Where to start...I had the unit for 3 years and now have to rip it out. There is so much incompetence on how to troubleshoot these things (including Mitsubishi's support), not to mention the labor costs (which Mitsubishi does not pay for warranty work), your better off buying a portable.After three years, the unit stopped blowing in cold air. Called two of Mitsubishi's recommended diamond contractors and one HVAC company.1 - First Hvac company comes out and says "He thinks" the compressor needs to be replaced, which will cost $800 - $1000....The $40 part will be covered, but not the labor. He said he talked to a Mitsubishi tech and they decided that was the cause.2 - Since I don't like when a technician says "thinks", I decided to have a diamond contractor come out. This one calls Mitsubishi support and they decide it is wire damage (which there is no visible damage)....3)- Called a 2nd diamond contractor. Yep, they too got on the phone with Mitsubishi support, and this one says it could be either a bad inverter board or clog in the refrigerant. Which he said would take a few more hours ($100 / hour),I said forget it. This one didn't even know how to open up the unit. I had to tell him.So...If anything ever goes wrong with these units, prepare to pay hundreds of dollars in diagnostic fees...And then hundreds of dollars more in fixing it.These are the worse designed machines I have ever come across and it seems thatthe techs (even the ones recommended on their site) are so poorly trained I would HIGHLY recommend to stay away from Mitsubishi products.Contacted Mitsubishi and they were no help at all.You have been warned...I wish I was before I bought this junk.
